Wasabi contains allyl isothiocyanate which is the compound which has been to show it can stop the flow of mucus.

Feeling a little blue? Snacking on raw sugar snap peas can help alleviate negative feelings for up to five hours. Apparently these little gems block the chemicals in the brain which causes us to feel negative and blue.

Want to speed up your weight-loss? Stanford University scientists have discovered that people who eat three radishes a day, radically affected the liver’s ability to convert fat into energy. Within two days, a noticeable difference was noted in those taking part in the study. Apparently radishes contain sulforaphane which helps the liver burn excess fat. If you don’t like the taste, try blending one into your smoothies, if you’re into peppery tastes, add it to your breakfast smoothie to get kick start your liver into shedding the pounds.

Had a stressful day? Munching on cucumber throughout the day, helps to diminish stress levels according to research, the effects of reducing stress with cucumber lasts for over four hours, better than pharmacueticals any day, plus cucumber is great as an anti-ageing facial treatment too:-)

Trouble with Joint Pain? Pineapple contains Bromine which is a natural inflammatory for pains in joints. Drink pineapple juice with two slices of lime and sparkling water for a refreshing summer drink. The sparkling water oxygenates the drink ensuring it gets into the blood stream quicker and hits the pain fast.
